Mr. Russo currently concentrates his legal practice in the areas of residential real estate conveyances, commercial loan transactions, estate planning, wills and trusts, landlord and tenant issues, and general business law including new business entity formation. Prior to joining LaPlante Sowa Goldman, Mr. Russo worked at the Law Office of McGunagle & Reidy, Ltd. in Cranston, Rhode Island, where he was involved extensively with real estate transactions. Mr. Russo also counseled individuals and small businesses on matters dealing with contract law, commercial leases, and business entity management. Mr. Russo serves as registered agent for several corporations and limited liability companies he helped to establish in Rhode Island. In addition to practice in Rhode Island, Mr. Russo’s legal experience includes previous work in the States of Florida and Pennsylvania, where he continues to be licensed to practice. He is also admitted to practice before the United States District Court for the District of Rhode Island.
Mr. Russo is a 1987 graduate of McGill University in Montréal, Québec, Canada (frequently referred to as the “Harvard of the North” and listed by Newsweek as one of the top fifty global universities) where he received an undergraduate degree in Humanistic Studies, concentrating in history in foreign language. His foreign language skills, which he incorporates into his legal work, include extensive ability in French and Spanish, and basic knowledge of Italian. Mr. Russo received his Juris Doctorate in 1990 from the University of Miami School of Law in Coral Gables, Florida.
Mr. Russo’s outside interests include matters affecting, and events in, Europe. He has previously studied European history and has completed coursework in European Union law. He is also an avid sports fan and follows soccer intensely, and to a lesser degree American football. He also enjoys healthy pursuits such as swimming and cycling. Mr. Russo currently resides in East Providence, Rhode Island. He is the father of two children.
